Kent Wedding Photography
Kent – The Garden Of England. There are some beautiful venues all across Kent with a variety of locations that means everyone can find their perfect venue for their wedding day from coastal locations, barns, country houses, castles, hotels, country houses and an iconic venue in the Canterbury Cathedral.
I live in Canterbury itself and we have some fantastic venues nearby such as the The Old Kent Barn and Tower House. I travel all over Kent and London though and if I haven’t been to a venue before I always aim to visit beforehand either by myself or with the couple if they would like to discuss the day at the same time. Either way I ensure I get the most out of the venues to help capture stunning images and capture that special quality that made you chose it for your wedding day.
Below I have listed some of my favourite venues.
Penshurst Place and Gardens is a 14th century medieval house in West Kent. Henry VIII used to stay there and several Film and TV productions have filmed there. There is 48 acres of ground at the venue of which 11 are grade 1 listed.
I shot my first wedding at Penshurst Place last summer and absolutely loved it. I am planning on visiting again this summer for some engagement shoots as the gardens are stunning and there are so many different locations around the venue to utilise. On the wedding day the grounds offer a great chance for some portrait photography and when the sun sets we can take advantage of the fantastic lighting conditions.
Tower House is located in Canterbury in the Westgate gardens. It is a house built in 1850 that was donated to the city of Canterbury. It is a smaller and more intimate venue that is full of character. The rooms there are ideal for bridal prep and the gardens next to the house are fantastic for portrait photos. I like to shoot engagement portraits in the gardens as during the summer you have all the fantastic colour from the flowers and diverse areas we can go to.
